Girl with Her Phone at a Table
Picture this: you are sitting at a beautiful outdoor patio table on a warm summer afternoon with a magnificent seaside view. You've arrived a few minutes early after a long day at work, to meet up with a few friends for some cocktails and dinner. You spend a few minutes deeply satisfied that you are finally out of the office, and have arrived at such a spectacular table and view.
And then you dive into your purse for your phone. Any messages? What's been posted on Instagram lately? Anything new from anyone on Facebook? Urgent emails that have come in since last checking 15 minutes ago?
Why do we do this? How can the virtual life contained within our phones be more important that these breathtaking moments we are currently in?
